A blog about all things theology, something that’s at the forefront of my mind most hours of most days. The Bible I idolize was given to me by my older brother in 1994. I read through it the first time that year and have kept it close ever since. Many months that turned into years it spent collecting dust as I pursued other idols, but it was always there waiting for me to come back. Not unlike my relationship with God. When I seek Him, He’s right there. The last few years my seeking has been brought to a different level. I’m reading His Word to learn about Him, trying desperately, as Michigan pastor Kevin DeYoung said, to “let Scripture interpret me instead of me interpreting Scripture.”
I’m a native Washingtonian, currently residing on Whidbey Island. I served in the US Navy, then spent a decade in the construction industry, which is where I met my husband of a dozen years, with whom I share the privilege of raising our one and only child. I invest my time in being a wife, a mother, a friend, and in between all of that, I read, write, and consume copious amounts of coffee.
